It can passthrough video to a TV set also using HDMI. If you still do not see the source, scroll back up to the top, and repeat the steps checking to make sure to complete each step correctly. Using the passthrough on my main monitor wouldn't work because it only has one HDMI slot, whereas my secondary monitor/TV has four. To get your Elgato Capture Card to work within a streaming software, you first need to make sure that there is no other software running currently open and using the Elgato Capture Card. I'm streaming from a several year old gaming laptop so it's not exactly optimal, but I haven't found any options to change it from 1080p 60fps, to even 720p 30fps to help with the frame skipping that I get on stream.
